ABOUT PEOPLESPACE

A unique collaboration

PeopleSpace, the new name for IOS, gives clients the best of all possible worlds by combining the strengths of two leaders who have compatible visionary approaches to the commercial interiors industry.

IOS will build on 19 years of continuing success as a solutions provider, serving clients out of locations in Los Angeles, Orange County, Seattle and Portland.

Haworth, the global manufacturer, has taken a minority stake in IOS to participate in a new entity that will accelerate West Coast growth for both companies.

You’ll be working with the same IOS leadership and team, amplified by access to vast Haworth resources.

Compatible perspectives.

The two companies think alike. We’re innovators. As PeopleSpace, we’ll be able to bring cutting-edge thinking and research into the real world, elevating the total customer experience. Clients on the West Coast have proven to be more progressive and receptive to new ideas that apply our combined thought leadership, in areas such as human well-being, cultural transformation and flexibility.

Well-being: We wrote the book.

IOS has always been about creating spaces where people can thrive and be their best. We know a holistic, person-centered approach supports performance, happiness, retention, recruiting and productivity. Haworth has funded research into the impact of space on human well-being, which includes cognitive support and psychological comfort. PeopleSpace will have access to this industry-leading research, including discoveries that are described in the book, ”The Healthy Workplace Nudge.”

”The Healthy Workplace Nudge.” can be purchased on Amazon

Anchored in behavioral economics, “The Healthy Workspace Nudge” is based on Haworth-funded research on how to design space to “nudge” people towards healthier behaviors, reducing stress, enhancing well-being and improving performance.

Tools for cultural transformation.

Culture influences motivation, and space (both indoor and outdoor) can be used to leverage or change culture. PeopleSpace applies years of experience coupled with Haworth’s research-based methodologies and products to help you and your design team profile your cultural ecosystem and plan your space accordingly. One such tool is the Competing Values Framework® (shown on the left), a model developed out of the 4 dominant culture types in successful organizations.

Designing adaptable spaces.

The traditional linear “design once” model doesn’t hold up in today’s unpredictable world. PeopleSpace future-proofs your space by making it adaptable, preserving your investment over time. Haworth’s people-centered Organic Workspace® approach includes innovative products that make it possible to reconfigure space at a moment’s notice. Easily change the ratio of private to collaborative space, or set up a new area for a merged department or task-based team.

One Haworth line that enables adaptability is the “Active Components” benching solution. Mix-and-match flexibility fits a wide range of workstyles. Creates warm environments. Improves employee engagement and space utilization.
